JOB TYPE: Full-time
 
SUMMARY: Technical editors proofread, revise, and edit technical documents and presentations. They will review submitted articles for grammar, punctuation, grammar, and content.
 
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Edit articles, technical content, reports, papers, and online content.
  • Ensure completion by set deadlines.
  • Maintain compliance with style, branding, and publishing guidelines.
  • Perform research to accurately edit, prepare, and produce technical documentation.
  • Maintain appropriate databases and/or files.
  • Format and produce complex computer-generated forms, tables, and graphs.
  • Evaluate and edit the content, layout, structure, design, and format of documents.
  • Analyze graphic and technical information.
  • Improve content structure and ensure it is appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Ensure complex topics are translated into understandable text.
  • Correct spelling and grammar errors, and formatting and structural issues.
  • Communicate goals with writers and provide constructive feedback to ensure that writing meets company guidelines and adheres to plagiarism checks and compliance standards.

 
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • MUST be a U.S. citizen.
  • Degree in English, English Literature, Technical Editing, Journalism or a degree in a related field or at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the role. Associates’ degree is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and organizational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of English grammar and spelling.
  • Strong technical knowledge and editing skills.
  • Ability to continually learn and adapt to new ideas and methods.
  • Ability to prioritize based on deadlines.
  • Willingness to tackle new problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Computer, Internet, and a home office set-up.
 
PAY: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
